WEEK 4: Stylistics

We continue with our discussion of stylistic criticism.

Consider the historical range of such aestheitc values, and their application to Beowulf. What is the argument for morality as advanced by Winters? What of the role of inspiration, imagination, and form? Consider Ransom's "structure" and the episode of the poet singing Beowulf's glory.
