The Artist
Gerda Kunkel is a Western Massachusetts resident who paints
in oils and watercolors. She also works in stained glass and favors
abstraction of natural subjects. Her background includes a B.A. magna
cum laude and an M.A. in Art History from Case Western Reserve University,
Cleveland, as well as courses at Greenfield Community College, and the
adult education program at Falmouth High, Massachusetts. She also
participated in a color workshop by local artist James Lumley. She
spent a year in Woods Hole, MA, and held her 1st exhibition - Memories
of Cape Cod - at Gallery 10 in September 1996. In the Summer
of 1999 her work was included in the Guild Studio School Student Art Exhibit.
