Amber took the Port Jefferson Ferry to her new home at just 14 weeks of age!

CH KrisMyth Command Performance ("Jordy") x Am/Can CH Countrydream's Jet Flash, CGC ("Crysta")

Amber's people came to pick her up on a lovely early summer's day. They were getting Amber to add to their cocker family. Pat had written me just 5 days after the pups were whelped. Her message read "I have been a cocker owner my whole life, first having blacks and now buffs. I presently have two, Toby, who is the last of my Ruth Muller cockers and Maggie who is three. My last four cockers before Maggie were all Ruth Mullers - Wonderful temperaments and beautiful, loving dogs."

How could I resist someone who offered such family experience with cockers and who came with wonderful recommendations.

Upon returning home, Pat wrote: "You sure picked a wonderful little girl for us. The WHOLE trip home she sat and laid on may lap so calmly and relaxed. On the ferry she was not thrown by any of the other dogs, kids, alarms or engine noises. She is indeed a treasure. She has adjusted beautifully so far, and is very warm and affectionate too. We socialized her with Toby and Maggie, one at a time, as soon as we got home. We all sat outside in our fenced in area. Toby was the most cautious, but he did fine. We just left the kitchen and pup is relaxing in her crate (with blanky and toy). So..........it seems to be going wonderfully so far."

A bit later, Pat said that they renamed "Amber" and wrote: "I wanted you to guess the name.....K-----n. We named her after you and the beautiful setting you and Judy have up there. Her name is Kenyon! She is doing beautifully. We love Kenyon and her name fits her well. She is a mellow, fun loving puppy. She's the easiest puppy we've had regarding fitting in so quickly, training and not bugging the other dogs too much. You did a great job! Thanks!"

I am so pleased that this pup has such a wonderful and loving family to be part of for the rest of her life! I look forward to seeing her when I show on Long Island.

I gave Amber a bath and trim for her trip. She was such a sweetheart! I miss her still :(
She was very affectionate from the start with her new people, headed for her new life.
"Bye now! I'm going for a ride . . ." "I'll let you know how I'm doing and visit with you on LI ;-)"
