Evaluation and Project cost to Date

Cost and size of project:

KVZ is 500 acres. Overall cost with land and the main infrastructure and buildings between NLG 4.5 (c 2.04) and 4.8 (c2.18) billion dollars.

Comments about the three E's:

The hot water for the residents and businesses is piped from the Shell Oil plant in Rotterdam to KVZ.. Green roofs, skylights; large picture windows; compact, mixed-use development; minimal vehicular use and mass transportation (including water taxis) are featured in Kop Van Zuid. There has been some criticism that KVZ is more high end does not exemplify equity. Personally, I felt employment opportunities offered to the residents of KVZ as well as rental apartments of varying prices support equity.Building material from demolished structures must be reused and there is only 20% waste on building projects. Mixed-use buildings, renewable resources, local economy demonstrate sustainablity in KVZ.

Water Taxi in Harbor Areas
Not Traffic or Red Lights

The blend of old historic and novel architecture presents Kop Van Zuid as a very unique waterfront project. in the Netherlands. The city set up a Q(quality) Team to assist the Aesthetic Committee and to ensure compliance to the required quality of town planning and architecture. The members of the Q Team consisted of reknowned architects and urban planners.
