ABOUT ME: AMY FLYNN

Headshot of Amy Flynn.

Who I Am

I moved to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst without a single clear idea of what would come next for me. Luckily, I made up for my lack of direction with drive in my first few years of college.

Now, I am a third-year student studying managerial economics while also minoring in information technology. Along the way, I’ve developed a true passion for learning how technology can grow and innovate business. I don’t get to write as much as I’d like in my current courses of study, so I am also pursuing my Professional Writing and Technical Communication certification. This allows me to gain a deeper understanding of technical writing and technology while enhancing my hands-on knowledge of different software.

Who I Want To Be

In the past few years, I’ve found my niche and been able to focus my interests. I’ve developed a true passion for learning how technology can grow and innovate business, and that is something I want to be a part of as the industry develops. Combining this with a deeper understanding of technical writing and technology while getting hands-on experience with different software has really helped me know what I am looking for in the future.

Ideally, I’d like to combine my technical knowledge, whether that be technical writing or working with software hands-on, with my understanding of applied economics and industrial organization. I see myself as a big-picture thinker, able to organize my knowledge of the smaller details into a cohesive whole. No matter what industry I end up in, I’m eager to put those skills to use.
