I've found these charts to be pretty accurate. I'm not particularly big on "counting fish." But, if you catch a large fish it's interesting to know how large it really is. The next time someone tells you they were catching 40 pounders on every other cast, look at the chart, think about it, then laugh at them. People exaggerate, it's human nature. I weigh and tape every large fish. I once amazed a guide in Montana by guessing the length of every fish landed to within 1/4th of an inch. What's the pleasure in claiming to have caught a bigger fish than you really did?
