Old Bubbles
Leverett, MA
April, 2000

The setting: If you wash a pan (that had spagetti sauce in it) with detergent and let the soapy sit, it will settle down with many bubbles. If you let it sit overnight, the tops of the bubbles dry out and pop, leaving the connections between bubbles and the lower portion of the bubble intact. These bubbles average about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in diameter. The Photograph was taken "the morning after." The many bright spots are reflections from the overhead lights in the kitchen.

Technical detail: TMax 400, 4 x 5, Zone VI Field Camera, Schneider 120 mm lens, f32.
