Girls are constantly feeling invisible in this society, in classrooms, in preschool classrooms and in general daily life. There is a definite need for girls to be able to express themselves in a positive and nurturing environment. Just look at the media and see how women and girls are treated. It is a tidal wave of advertising and it is a miracle a young woman survives this culture at all. This program will help girls gain self-knowledge and self-worth through learning to think for themselves, have empathy with characters they read about and to give them different perspectives on different difficult problems. They will also discover they how they feel about certain subjects and this will help them better understand themselves and their peers and why some people make some decisions and other people make other decisions.
