Because my father (James) was an avid railfan, we started collecting Brio trains and Thomas & Friends for Owen. He's too young yet to use them (well, he has an engine he plays with), but we thought if we started early we could build a good-sized collection for him to use when he's 2 or 3.

Or perhaps it's a collection for us, the lines have become blurry. As we've started searching for Brio and Thomas, we've gotten rather involved, and worry that we'll be playing with them at night after Owen has gone to bed. And we'll be fighting to keep them when he goes to college. Although at the rate we're going, I expect we'll be able to split them and have plenty for both of us. (And on the bright side, I know have something to get Scott for his birthday each year!)
