Organic Chemistry Molecule Gallery
If you have questions or suggestions, contact Prof. Paul M. Lahti
This is a molecule gallery for undergraduate organic chemistry courses. You should see a table below this text,
which shows a number of click-buttons, plus two black windows in the middle of the table showing
the [1.1.1]-propellane molecule. If you do not see this, you will need to download Java
for your computer. This is a very common upgrade for modern computers (Apple and Wintel),
and should not pose any problems for your system if it is reasonable new.
To rotate a structure, point your mouse into the appropriate window, then hold down the left mouse button and move mouse.
To activate the Jmol window options menu, point within the window with the mouse, then hold down the right mouse button.
There is also a nice site for stereochemistry in molecules at MSU (Apple or Windows O/S).
The molecules below are visualized using Jmol: an open-source Java viewer for chemical structures in 3D: see http://www.jmol.org/.
