I. Kleenex Instructions

With kleenex
Piled in a box,
Yank when needed,
Blow the nose,
Or, hacking, spit,
Then crumble,
Discard.

For excessive cold,
If necessary, repeat.
When the box empties
Buy a new one.
Check for discounts.

II. Living Tissue

We are grabbed, used.
Snatched, dispatched,
Too beslimed
For recycling.

If only we could graduate,
Become a handkerchief,
Sit in the pocket over
The area claiming to be the heart.
