YOUR COURSE GRADE:

Your course grade will be determined by your overall performance in the course based on your cumulative point total from the following required activities. The final letter grade for the course will be determined by your final points with the letter grade defined by the following table. Because this course enrolls predominately freshmen, Professor Aitken believes it is important to give students a number of grading activities. This allows students who do poorly early in the course to raise their grade by doing better in subsequent grading activities.

The hour and final exams are multiple choice, comprised of questions on material covered in the lectures and the textbook. Additional “bonus question” on “Economics in the News” will be included on each exam based on current economic issues presented in the lecture and referrals to information sources by Professor Aitken as news stories break during the semester.  Additional bonus point activities will also be provided.
