Requirements
(1)  Class attendance and participation in discussion sections.
(2)  Weekly reading assignments, to be completed before each Tuesday lecture.
(3)  Weekly quizzes, given in discussion sections. Students may miss four of these quizzes without 
    being penalized. If more than ten quizzes are taken, the grades on the best ten of these will be 
    counted towards the course grade.
(4)  Three exams, the first two given in lecture periods on Oct 07 and Nov 04, the third given with the 
    final exam during the exam period.  Students may miss one of these exams without being penalized. 
    If more than two exams are taken, the grades on the best two will be counted towards the course grade. 
(5)  Final exam, to be given during the exam period Dec 15-20, date, place, and time to be announced.

The course grade will be based on the quizzes (up to 5 points each), the exams (up to 15 points each), and the final (up to 20 
points). Extra points (up to 10)may be given, at the discretion of the discussion instructor, for class participation.


The quizzes and exams must be taken when scheduled; no make-ups will be given.
