P284 Exam I
This exam is a "staged" exam. It will first be given as an in-class exam with 15 minutes per problem. Immediately after you turn in your solutions to the in-class part, you will be given another copy of the exam to take home. The take-home is due the following Monday (Apr. 12) at the beginning of class. Your grade is the average of the in-class and take-home parts.

Homework sets #4 through #7
Text chapters 4, 6 and 7.1-7.3, as well as Feynman lectures in physics
Format
Five word problems.
75 minutes for the in-class part.
4.5 days for the take-home part.
At least one problem is taken directly from homework.
Rules
Closed book, closed notes for the in-class!
Open book for the take-home.
Calculators OK.
Scratch paper provided.
Absolutely no discussion of the exam except with the instructor.
n.b. If you are sure of your in-class solution to a problem, you are allowed to save time on the take-home by writing "see in-class solution".
