Group Problem 1

Due: 10/14/99-10/19/99

1. Exercise: Using the study data indicated below, write SAS programs and develop a descriptive report that addresses the question posed for the data. Work individually on this project as much as possible. However, if you get stuck on something, you may consult with some other class member (or me), but please list your consultants on your report. In addition, turn in a paper copy of the report. Your report should be brief- and include sections corresponding to an Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, and Discussion, and be that is no more than 5 pages (including tables and figures). The report should be well written, include adequate information to acquaint the reader with the problem, and highlight findings. Include a copy of any programs in an appendix.

Bring one copy of your report for each group member class on 10/14/99. You will each evaluate the other member's report in your group in class (assigning 0 to 5 points). The average grade given by your classmates will be 1/2 of your grade on this assignment. Grading will be based on the following criteria:
- Overall responsiveness of report and conclusions (2 pts)
- Clarity of Tables & Figures (1 pt)
- SAS programs- self documentation (1 pt)
- SAS programs- neatness and structure (1 pt)
After the 10/14/99 class, create a common report, and place this report on a WEB page along with copies of the programs. The WEB page should be in place by 10/19/99. This report will be graded by two other groups from the WEB page, and the grade assigned (from 0 to 5 ponts) will be 1/2 of the final grade for assignment.
