Project III - Developing a Personal Icon

Part 1 due: Wednesday, February 20
Part 2 due: Monday, February 25
Part 3 due: Wednesday, February 27

Develop a personal icon (a logo) that can stand alone or be used in context (such as letterhead, a coffee mug or a hat).

Design and produce a business card using your personal icon.

Part 1 – Sketches

Due: Wednesday, February 20

1. Develop Intent
   Write a one-sentence resume. Who are you?
   
   
2. Poll Audience
   Break into small groups. Share your sentences. Poll group members as to what visuals would best represent your sentence.
   
   
3. Planning
   Based on your sentence and feedback from your focus group, begin to sketch 10 - 30 thumbnails of icons, using black and white only.

Part 2 – Develop your personal icon

Due: Monday, February 25

Choose one of your thumbnails and render a version in black and white and so that it fits inside an 8" x 8" square. (The largest dimension of your icon should be 8".)

Part 3 – Create your personal icon digitally

Due: Wednesday, February 27

Using Illustrator, develop your personal icon digitally.

Part 4 – Create a business card using your personal icon

Due: Wednesday, February 27
