Members

Alpha Phi Omega, Kappa Omicron currently has about 30 members. All fully-initiated members are called brothers. Most brothers remain active within APO and return as active members. Some Alumni in the local Amherst area also continue to help us out on a regular basis.

To be a member of Alpha Phi Omega, one must pledge themselves to the fraternity for an entire semester in a probationary period. During this time, members are known as pledges. Once they complete the requirements, and if they are accepted, pledges become brothers. The requirements as a pledge are more detailed than those of a brother, so as to prepare the pledge for life in APO.

Alpha Phi Omega is has a strict no-hazing policy. It is also a dry fraternity, and therefore we do not drink with pledges, even if they are of age.

All members--both pledges and brothers--in Alpha Phi Omega must complete 20 hours of community service. All 20 hours--and more if wanted--can be completed through the various service projects offered by APO. For more information on these service projects, check out the Service page link at the top.

Alpha Phi Omega offers many different leadership and fellowship opportunities for brothers. APO KO has an executive board made up of six members. There are also service project chairs that brothers can run. Additionally, brothers have the chance to be Big Brothers/Sisters to the new pledges.
