Web safe color wheel

Select a gray level below to display the Web safe colors associated with that value. As the value gets lighter, there are fewer colors.

000000 000000 (91 colors)
333333 333333 (61 colors)
666666 666666 (37 colors)
999999 999999 (25 colors)
CCCCCC CCCCCC (7 colors)
FFFFFF FFFFFF (1 color)

These 216 colors are considered to be "Web-safe" because they do not dither (appear as patterns of dots) when viewed on computers with only 256 color displays (8 bit).

NOTE: For space reasons, the typical six digit HTML color code representing levels of Red, Green and Blue (e.g. 336699) has been simplified to a three digit code (e.g. 369). These three digit codes can be used in CSS definitions, but must be translated into six digit codes when used in standard HTML.
