When I start talking about movies it's usually impossible to shut me up. I've seen films from a variety of countries, but I'm most familiar with American and french films.

Over the years I've gone through an inde phrase, a classics phrase, and a hollywood phrase. Now I'm just looking for good entertainment. I think I'm happiest watching a musical or western but I enjoy anything that isn't overly pretentious. Monster movies and disaster films hold a special place in my heart. I'm picky about the rest.

A number of films have made an impression on me, but there are three that stand out:

  • Brazil (Terry Gilliam)
  • Cyrano de Bergerac (Jean-Paul Rappeneau)
  • Minbo No Onna (Juzo Itami)

Some older Films I highly recommend:

  • Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa)
  • Singin' in the Rain (Stanley Donen & Gene Kelly)
  • The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence (John Ford)
  • Anatomy of a Murder (Otto Preminger)
  • The Philadelphia Story (George Cukor)
  • Alien (Ridley Scott)
  • Jaws (Steven Spielberg)
  • Rebecca (Alfred Hitchcock)
  • Witness for the Prosecution (Billy Wilder)
  • His Girl Friday (Howard Hawks)
  • Dr. Strangelove (Stanley Kubrick)
  • Charade (Stanley Donen)
  • In the Heat of the Night (Norman Jewison)
