My Research

The most important aspect of any Master's Program is the reasearch. My thesis is centered around the yolk protein, Lipovitellin (Lv). I am currently developing a protocol to isolate Lv via heat denaturation and quantify the protein's thermal properties using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

I am also involved in survey trawl gear evaluation as part of my job with NMFS. I recently developed an R script to aid in the evaluation of our trawl's performance. Here is a sample output from that script. I am now working on an evaluation of our shellfish measuring methodology.

Other side projects I am currently working on include silver hake Merluccius bilinearis cannibalism and shifts in species assemblages on George's Bank.

This page will eventually have links to my published data and highlight some of my current findings and things of my interest.
