King Alfred's font, "Wessex," can be found on this CD.

To install it, drag two icons--the one that looks like a suitcase and is named "Wessex.bmap," and the one that looks like a small printer and is named "Wesse"--directly onto the System Folder.

Wessex is now installed in your computer.

If you are using Netscape Navigator:

  1. Select "Preferences" under the "Edit" menu.
  2. Select "Fonts" under the "Appearance" category.
  3. Select "Wessex" under both "Variable Width Font" and "Fixed Width Font".
  4. Click "Ok".
You have now installed "Wessex" and are ready to use King Alfred.

Note: You will not have to download and re-install "Wessex" again. However, when you are finished using King Alfred you will probably want to repeat steps 1-4 above, selecting your default font instead of "Wessex."
You will then need to re-set your preference fonts to Wessex the next time you use King Alfred
