About Me
For those who don't know, it's more-or-less /stɔbz/ when I say it.
I was born in Louisiana but lived around 9 years in northern New Jersey and 9 more in Virginia. Sometimes I'll randomly show a feature from one of the corresponding linguistic areas, but mostly I think I show that indeterminate status that gets northern Virgina left out of dialect maps.
I did my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Linguistics at the College of William and Mary. Before that I went to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.

Languages I can claim some competency in:
- English (natively)
- Japanese (relatively decent—6 years of classes total)
Languages I have some small experience with:
- Spanish (badly remembered and many years ago)
- Old English (one semester)
- Classical Japanese (one semester)
