Comments:
1. It was decided that the QFS2001 meeting will be held in Konstanz, Germany. Paul Leiderer will
serve as conference Chairman. A link to the QFS2001 web page will be provided when that is
established. There were three proposals to host QFS2001, making the task of the Steering Committee difficult. All
were fine proposals. Our decision was made with the knowledge that LT23 will be held in Japan in
2002. It is anticipated that QFS2001 will be held in the last half of July 2001, but the dates
have not yet been established.
2. The Steering Committee reached the decision that the C5 Commision member most closely
associated with the QFS community will be added to the QFS Steering Committee
as a non-voting member. This decision was reached in the good
spirit of enhanced communication between C5
and the QFS Steering Committee while at the same time continuing the independence of the QFS
Steering Committee and the QFS series of conferences. Henri Godfrin was invited to attend the Steering Committee meeting and
he attended.
3. Although no representative from the QFS2000 meeting was able to attend the Steering Committee meeting,
the Chairman of QFS2000 submitted a report which summarized progress in the organization of
the meeting, and this was available. QFS2000 appears to be moving forward briskly, with adequate financial support
in hand or in progress.
