Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and
technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and
innovation in both face‐to‐face and virtual environments. Specifically, teachers model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments.
REFLECTIONS ON NETS-T-1d:
As a fellow in the School of Education Innovative Instructional Fellowship Program (IIF), I will be participating in an eighteen-month program which includes a year of design, development, and teaching an inaugural version of an online course. Being the a community of twenty-two other IiF Fellows will give me opportunities to “model collaborative knowledge construction” in face-to-face and in virtual distributed-learning environments. As IIF Fellows, I have agreed to:
- participate in monthly seminars over the 2010-11 academic year;
- meet monthly with the IIF Fellowship Coordinator to identify support needs and assess progress;
- design and conduct a comprehensive assessment of the course I am developing;
- complete a project report describing my experience during the fellowship program;
- participate in assessment of the IIF Fellowship program as a whole; and
- share my experiences developing and teaching my online course through publication and/or offering a department or college-based presentation.
- This IIF Fellowship Program will give me opportunities to engage in learning with colleagues, thus modeling for my undergraduate and graduate students who knowledge is constructed collaboratively.
