A Plan for an Action Research Study

This Action Research Study has been designed to determine what impact, if any, “distributed-learning” environments using emerging Web 2.0 technologies thwart or facilitate cognitive, affective, and volitional development in learners. When students are in face-to-face learning situations building community and co-establishing social norms for participation are familiar, if not, easy tasks. The social norm setting in “distributed-envrionments” will need to be carefully done and carefully documented so that others can learn from our inaugural efforts at computer-mediated online teaching and learning.
