I am an evolutionary paleobiologist and functional morphologist with a focus on biomechanics. My research focuses on complex biomechanical systems, specifically the vertebrate feeding system. I have worked with both modern and fossil taxa including Paleozoic fishes, Mesozoic archosaurs and modern mammals. Until recently I was based at the University of Bristol in the UK.
I am currently a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where I will be working on the evolution, biomechanics and paleontology of stomatopods (mantis shrimp) and their amazing striking appendages.
This is a new direction for my work, so watch this space as my website will likely change over the next several week.
