Christopher E. Overtree, Ph.D.

Dr. Overtree is the Director of the Psychological Services Center (PSC) and the Associate Director of Clinial Training for the Clinical Psychology Program at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, an APA accredited program since 1957. The PSC engages in Evidenced Based Psychological Practice, the highest standard of care in the field of mental health. The PSC is also a teaching clinic, with services provided by graduate therapists-in-training, under the supervision by a senior staff of licensed clinical psychologists.

A graduate of Princeton University (BA) and the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (M.S. & Ph.D.), Dr. Overtree studies psychotherapy effectiveness in a naturalistic setting, as well as more effective methods of service provision in the community mental health system. He is a child/adolescent/adult and family therapist with specialties in anxiety disorders, depression, cognitive-behavior therapy, and family conflict. He also serves as a consultant to schools regarding bullying/harassment, climate reform, and improving academic outcomes.
