Area of Specialization: Muscle Physiology

Research Interests: Principle area of research was muscle fatigue. Related areas of interest include: the metabolic cost of different types of muscle contraction, low-frequency fatigue, functional electrical stimulation, and muscle changes associated with aging. As a licensed, practicing physical therapist, Dr. Russ's areas of clinical interest were the use of electrical stimulation as a therapeutic modality, and manual therapy.
