Michael Parker
University of Massachusetts Amherst
| I am currently a graduate student in the Social Psychology program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am in my third year in the program. I completed my Master's thesis, entitled "Examining Moral Conflict as a Form of Prejudice", in the Summer of 2008. I have also completed a minor program of study in Quantitative Methods. My interests in this area are advanced multivariate techniques for data analysis such as SEM, HLM, MANOVA, factor analysis, and others. I am originally from Wisconsin and received my Bachelor of Science with majors in Psychology and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2004. My main research interests are in the areas of morality and intergroup conflict and investigating the respective roles of social identity and threat in intergroup conflict. I am also interested in political behavior and social cognition, specifically focusing on voting decisions, attributions of others' behavior, information searching, and the effects of emotion on all of these processes. Both of these projects have manuscripts in preparation currently. My primary teaching interests include Social Psychology, Quantitative Methodology and Statistical Inference, and Research Methods

Interested in becoming an RA? I'm always taking applications from good, motivated, and detail-oriented students who are interested in learning more about the process of research. This is a great opportunity for those interested in applying to graduate school. |
