Michael Parker

I am currently a graduate student in the Social Psychology program at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am in my second year in the program and working on my Masters thesis entitled "Examining Moral Conflict as a Form of Prejudice."

I am also completing a minor program of study in Quantitative Methods. My interests in this area are advanced multivariate techniques for data analysis such as HLM, SEM, MANOVA, principal components analysis, cluster analysis, and others.

I am originally from Wisconsin and received my Bachelor of Science with majors in Psychology and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2004.

My main research interests are in the areas of morality and intergroup conflict, and identifying types of legitimized prejudice. I am also interested in political behavior and social cognition, specifically focusing on information searching, voting decisions, attributions of others' behavior, and the effects of emotion on all of these processes.

My primary teaching interests include Social Psychology, Quantitative Methodology and Statistical Inference, Research Methods and Experimental Psychology.
