I spent two weeks in Charleville-Mezières, France, as a fellow in residence at L’Institut International de la Marionnette one of the world’s leading puppet research centers, and as a guest observer at l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette, one of Europe's leading schools of puppetry.
When I was not viewing classes and rehearsals and meeting with the students and faculty, I spent time in the institute’s impressive videotape archives of rare puppetry performances and workshops offered at the institute by established masters of contemporary puppetry.
