One of the three microscopes currently used in the lab. This particular micrscope has the capability to perform AFM measurements. A useful site for understanding microscopes is: Nikon's MicroscopyU.
Of the lasers used in the lab, the Vanguard has the largest range over which it emits laser light. It is capable of producing 355nm, 532nm, and 1064nm. The Argon Ion lasers have multiple lines ranging from 457nm to 514nm.
The Pixis CCD camera is one of the four cameras at the heart of data collection in the lab.
The Acton SpectraPro disperses light showing the spectrum of the light emitted by the molecules.
A good source to explore more about light and physics is: Hyperphysics
