I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin. So did Joe McCarthy, Harry Houdini, and Willem Dafoe. So far the most famous person I went to high school with is this guy, whose music may be familiar to those of you who read Wigu.
I went to college at The Johns Hopkins University in Mobtown, USA. While there I did nothing except study, attend the Johns Hopkins Film Festival, coach and judge for the Baltimore Urban Debate League, buy books at the city's innumerable library book sales, tide myself over in between with free tomes from the BookThing of Baltimore, go running in Bolton Hill, serve as secretary of JHU Student Pugwash, live in an apartment owned by a culinary school that I wasn't a student of, and buy Christmas presents at Atomic Books.
Despite having learned of Arno Strine's plans for the city in The Fermata, I nevertheless take the risk of living in Northampton.
