Parking

Participants in the Social Justice Mediation Institute training have several parking options:

1) University of Massachusetts Parking

Note:  Overnight parking is free on campus between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., Monday - Friday, and on weekends in any non-24 hour lot, in any space that is not marked as a special reserved space.

By Car

From the North

From I-91 South, take exit 25 (Deerfield). Turn left at ramp’s end and follow road to the intersection. Turn right onto Routes 5 & 10 (South).  After 1 mile, turn left onto Route 116 (South).  After 8 miles take the University of Massachusetts exit.  At the ramp’s end, turn left and travel up Massachusetts Avenue,  turning left onto Governor’s Drive at the second light. Proceed to the next light and turn right towards the Campus Center and Campus Parking Garage. Park in the Garage on the lower floor for easiest access directly into the Campus Center.  

From the South

From I-91 (North), take Exit 19 to Northampton.  Turn right off the exit ramp onto Route 9 (East), crossing over the Connecticut River.  Travel 4.5 miles and take Route 116 (North) by turning left at traffic lights.  After 1 mile, take the exit for the University of Massachusetts and at the ramp’s end, turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue, traveling forward to the second light which is at Governor’s Drive. Turn right onto Governor’s Drive and proceed to the next light, turning right towards the Campus Center and Campus Parking Garage. Park in the Garage on the lower floor for easiest access directly into the Campus Center.

From the East

From Route 2 (West), take exit 16 (Belchertown/Amherst). Take Route 202 about 15 miles to blinking light, turning right (towards Pelham/Amherst) continuing for 7 miles to Amherst center. At lights proceed through the light at the Amherst Common and the Bank of America down the hill on Amity Street. At the bottom of the hill, turn right at the light onto North University Drive. Proceed to the next light and turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Take an immediate left onto Governor’s Drive at the next light. Proceed to the next light and turn right towards the Campus Center and Campus Parking Garage. Park in the Garage on the lower floor for easiest access directly into the Campus Center.

From the West

From Route 2 (East), take the Greenfield/I-91 exit. Travel I-91 (South) to exit 25 (Deerfield). At the ramp’s end, turn left and follow the road to the intersection. Turn right onto Routes 5 & 10 (South). After 1 mile, turn left onto Route 116 (South). In 8 miles, take the exit for the University of Massachusetts. Coming From the East on I-90 (Mass Pike)

Take exit 4 (West Springfield). Take I-91 (North) to Exit 19. Turn right off the exit ramp onto Route 9 (East), crossing over the Connecticut River. Travel 4.5 miles and take Route 116 (North) by turning left at traffic lights. After 1 mile, take the exit for the University of Massachusetts. At ramp’s end turn right and travel up Massachusetts Avenue traveling forward to the second light which is at Governor’s Drive.
