Tropical Biology
Course Description. Honors course in Caribbean Tropical Biology. Introduction to the ecology, behavior,
taxonomy, and physiology of tropical organisms, with emphasis on close observation of living organisms in nature.
Includes hands-on investigation of coastal and marine ecosystems on a tropical island. Students will participate
in a field trip to the US Virgin Islands during the Spring Break. Prerequisite: permission of instructors.
This course is taught by a rotating group of faculty with specialization in birds, mammals, plants, fish, and
