Teaching Linguistics at UMass Amherst

During the 2010 Fall semester, I taught LINGUIST 201 Introduction to Linguistic Theory (Section A) and was a TA for LINGUIST 390C The Sound of Englishes taught by Anne Pycha.

During 2009 Fall, I was a TA for LINGUIST 101 People and Their Language taught by Peggy Speas.

Teaching Linguistics Elsewhere

At the University of North Texas, I was an adjunct professor that taught undergraduate LING 3060 Principles of Language Study on the Dallas campus in both traditional face-to-face and online environments: 3 courses (2007 Fall), 1 course (2008 Spring), 1 course (2008 Summer).

Earlier, I also was a TA for undergraduate LING 4040 General Linguistics taught by Shobhana Chelliah, Willem de Reuse, and Timothy Montler.

I also gave one-class demonstrations on how to use Praat for Linguistic Field Methods and Bibliography and Methods of Research in Linguistics/ESL courses.

Course Development

I worked with Joe Pater in developing an online version of LINGUIST 390C The Sound of Englishes here at UMass Amherst.

At UNT, I helped develop online versions of LING 3060 Principles of Language Study and LING 4040 General Linguistics.

ESL

I taught English as a Second Language to adults for Interactive Learning Systems in Dallas, Texas for the 2008 Fall and 2008 Summer semesters. I have also tutored individual adults and children in ESL. And, I taught ESL to adults for a semester-long teaching practicum.
