Research: My research is in the area of general relativity, particularly aspects of black holes in the context of string theory.

Teaching:

• In Fall 2007, I taught an introductory course on energy issues, Physics 190E – Energy & Society

• A lecture titled “A Sustainable Energy Future?” presented to John Gerber’s course on Sustainable Living at UMass (April, 08)

• For the past few semesters I have given a series of 3 lectures attempting to cover all of fundamental physics as part of the interdisciplinary course Bio 270H – Cosmos to Humanity organized by Jim Walker from the Biology Department.
