This year christmas was exceptionally great for
everyone.
Usually the christmas experience is the
most stressful time of
the year for everyone in our
family. It is one of two times of the
year where we
all get together under one roof and actually try to
spend
time in the same room together. The meal is
always planned by
my wife and I am given the role of
daycare operator for the children
of the family. At
least once in the day the fire alarm goes off
and my
father-in-law comes stomping through the house
screaming
every four letter word in the book before
pulling out the batteries
of every alarm in the house.
For my day I usually end up holding
three crying kids
at a time and getting beaten senseless by the mass
of
small children who turn on me at the drop of a toy.
The morning
is usually the most peaceful because we
are all still waking up and
sipping hot coffee while
the kids all slowly creep closer and closer
to the
tree. When the signal finally comes from my
mother-in-law
saying it's ok to start opening
presents, there is a sudden flash of
light like a bomb
dropping and then shreds of paper go flying until
all
of the children's' presents lay bare on the floor.
Usually
it's my presents to people that need to have
the receipt in the
wrapping. This year I decided I
would skip past that awkward
phase of the holiday by
forgetting about the money and getting all
the men
sports Jerseys and all of the women cosmetics. I got
the
older women in the family some Prevage
MD skin
cream and a clarisonic.
I didn't hear any objections
by any of the younger women who
all got a spa gift
certificate with some scented lotion. My
inspiration
for these two gifts came from my in-laws who love two
things;
sports and spas. My
father-in-law has season
tickets for two separate football teams. My
mother-in-law
just got Fraxel Laser therapy to
clear
up her aging spots and spends every other weekend at
the spa.
