Pennsylvania health insurance
Does health insurance vary from state to state vastly? Looking online at the Pennsylvania health insurance website you can see the the different plans that they have to offer. There is a place where you can see all of the providers and even a link for the consumers to go to look at. When I typed in Illinois health insurance I got basically the same thing from their websites. There are places for both where you can go and look at all the different plans next to each other and compare with your needs as a consumer. I think it is very interesting that when you go on to get quotes they ask you what your gender is and your birthday and if you are a smoker. Right away they ask you if you smoke, but they don’t ask you if you have any current illnesses, I thought from what I had learned in school that if you have a disease or illness you have to pay more for insurance. But I do think that they require you to have a physical before you are allowed to get an insurance plan, at least that is what we were taught in consumer ed, however it is not written anywhere here online so I’m not sure. I guess it makes sense that if you have an illness or disease you would have to pay more for health insurance but it also doesn’t seem fair. It seems more sad to me that the people who are already suffering emotionally, physically and financially have to struggle even more financially. Right now I really do not know anything about health insurance other than what we have been taught in school or that I have a card in my wallet that I need to give them when I get anything done medically so it is hard for me to judge these quotes that I looked up online, but they all seem so expensive. I just don’t get when you first purchase health insurance how you know what to get like what does PPO mean? And do you want a high or low deductable? It all seems like a mystery to me, a very expensive one. I guess that’s the price you have to pay in order to protect yourself and your family in this country. Or at least in this state.
