italy
A friend and I took an amazing trip all over Europe last year. We went to England, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Spain, Germany and Italy. We were gone for 6 months and spent a year prior to the trip planning it. I had gotten an inheritance from my Grandmother, and decided that it would be a great opportunity to see the world, before beginning my studies at NYU.
Needless to say, we enjoyed all of Europe. It was fun to drive from the passengers side of the car and to drive on the wrong side of the road. If you have never been on the Autobon in Germany, you must go. It is scary to say the least. I thought I was a fast driver but when you are doing 90 and cars are flying past you it is a bit weird.
Spain was beautiful and probably had the best food out of any of the countries we stayed in. England was interesting, but a little boring for me. I didn't like Ireland, although it was really beautiful and the people were really nice.
My friend absolutely loved France. Well, let's face it the shopping in Paris was incredible. We almost fell over, no literally. We had so much fun in Paris, we were hesitant to leave but I really wanted to see Venice Italy and so I pushed her out of there and off we went.
Well if you have never been to Venice, you must go. They say that Venice is really just a group of islands put together and hence why all the canals and gondolas. Well, gondolas are awesome. We actually were accompanied on our gondola ride by two very handsome Italian men who took us out for drinks after. I was a most amazing evening. We stayed in Venice about 10 days, but I don't think even then that either of us were ready to leave. Italy villas and Italy apartments are very comfortable and accommodating, and our villa had a beautiful view. We just couldn't get over how reasonable it was to stay and how magical it was to be there! We were told that we should check out the Sardinia apartments and Sardinia villas, but we didn't have enough time to get to the island and check it out. We promised each other that we will go again in exactly 10 years. By then we should be more settled (lol).
