| I love women, science fiction and I have a profound respect for fuedal japanese culture, Samurai in particular. I simply adore Akira Kurosawa films as a result of the latter. However these interests have remained with me for some time, its the things I have grown to hate that dominate my mind now more than ever. As a younger man I swore I would never become one of those artist prompted to create by dark political events. I always focused on the aesthetic, how colors interact and line creates balance and tension. Or the way light dances on the curves of a young woman, all make for an almost religious experience visually. This spiritual and artistic self fornication though enjoyable, lacks substance and produces little truth about core perspectives. The world that is eden burns all around us and I play make believe. It gets harder with every breath to do so. Every day Im bombarded by the madness our species unleashes on the world and find my far removed voyuerism saturated with guilt and utter self loathing. However I feel the cathartic nature of my art when reflecting and exhibiting these disgusting truths, and find it is essential for any resolution. We must first collectively acknowledge the horrors around us and our part in them before we can actively change things for the better. This process must begin with the truth in and through all of us, art in whatever expressive form is that truth. Where mother nature fails to produce that which reinforces our mythologies is where our abominations are born. |
For those of you actual interested in my interests and activities I enjoy the following.
