I work internationally, but most of my life has been spent in and around New England. My passion for the outdoors has manifested not only in my research, but also in my exploration on foot and by boat.

I came to ecology gradually; I anticipated a career as an equine veterinarian before "discovering" my current field of study during a study abroad in Australia in my junior year of college. I am continually amazed by the complexity of natural communities and ecosystems and strive to understand them and how they relate to human activities.

I have many diverse interests in my personal and academic life. Such variety keeps me busy, curious, and motivated to learn and allows me to help others in many ways. I truly enjoy sharing knowledge and learning from every experience. I'm fortunate to have a wide network of collaborators across the US and abroad.
