Hawaii vacation rentals.
Introduction.
The idea of taking a Hawaii vacation rental in the summer is one of the things that some of us students here at the University of Massachusetts dream about during the winter months. Part of this desire was fuelled by talking to some Aussie exchange students, who told us all about the surfing they do on the Australian east coast and how they were looking for Hawaiian vacation rentals as a stop over on their way home. Of course Hawaii isn’t just about surfing, there’s plenty of stunning scenery to see on the islands as well; but - hey - we’re students and that means days on the beach and nights in the clubs of Hawaii.
Where to stay in Hawaii.
Any one looking for a Hawaii vacation rental will probably want to stay put on just one of the islands. Hawaii is the state name given to the group of eight islands in the Pacific Ocean some 2500 miles off the coast of America. You can only fly direct from the mainland to two of the islands; the biggest one - Hawai’i itself and the island of O’Ahu, which has the capital - Honolulu - on it. This makes Hawai’i and O’Ahu the most popular islands for beach vacation rentals. However, having said that, Mau’i and even Kaua’i, the most remote of all the islands, are also popular Hawaiian vacation rental destinations. As well as having plenty of hotel accommodation available in Hawaii - renting a vacation property in either a vacation park or condo is also popular on the main islands.
Hawaii vacation rentals.
The most populated and the most visited of the Hawaiian Islands is O’Ahu. The tropical beaches and in particular those on the north shore provide some of the best and most spectacular surfing anywhere in the world. Add to that the facts that this island has many cultural attractions as well as breathtaking inland scenery - means that you’re advised to book in advance to be sure of finding the Oahu vacation rentals of your choice. Another very popular island for Hawaiian vacation rentals is Kaua’i, the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. Here you’ll find that most of the Kauai vacation rentals are virtually on the beach. This not only gives you access to some great beach life and surfing, but also some stunning views of the pleated cliff coastline - so typical of this island.
Hawaii condo rentals.
You can also rent vacation accommodation in a condo on Kauai. If you’ve not got a lot of beach gear like Malibu or Windsurfing boards, taking a Kauai condo rental could be just the thing for a stay around Waimea Canyon, near the state park at Koke’e. The island of Mau’i is probably best known for the volcano Haleakala. Known to be three miles deep, this volcano on the east of the island last erupted over 200 years ago. Its crater is over 7.5 miles long and 2.5 miles wide, creating a natural wonder and a national park. For those interested in natural history or earth sciences having a Maui vacation condo on the east of the island will be ideal.
Hawaiian beach rentals.
The actual island of Hawaii is often simply referred to as the ‘Big Island’ - because that’s what it is. Taking a long-term Hawaiian vacation rental or condo on this island will give you the time to really explore the island properly. Apart from the customary surfing and beach activities this island just about has it all. Active volcanoes, tropical rainforests, snow capped mountains and even coastal deserts; just about every conceivable geographic feature and phenomenon can be witnessed on this island. The west of the island, around Kailua, is renowned as a destination for snorkelers, boasts some of the best deep sea fishing anywhere in the world and is host to the annual international Ironman Triathlon, in October. Not only is Hawaii the Big Island , but thanks to its volcanoes it’s still growing. On the south of the island is the Chain of Craters Road - which passes volcanic craters and ends at an active lava flow. The coast to the north of the island still has some secluded beaches that you can’t reach by road, making them ideal for that quite “The Beach” experience.
