| Hardegree, Symbolic Logic: A Second
Course. An on-line version is available on this web site. |
| IN-CLASS EXAMS |
| There are five in-class exams. For dates,
see Schedule. |
| FINAL PERIOD
EXAMS |
| In addition to the five regular-period
exams, there are two one-hour exams to take place during
the officially scheduled final exam period. For exact date,
time, and place, see the University Final Exam Schedule,
published later in the semester. Also, stay tuned to this web
site (see Schedule) for updates. |
| DROPPING LOWEST SCORES |
| There are seven exams total. In calculating
your final numerical score, I drop the two lowest scores. A missed
exam counts as a zero. |
| MAKE-UP EXAMS |
| There are no make-up exams, except as provided
for in the previous item. (However, contact me about official
University absences.) |
| USING THE OPTIONAL
EXAMS TO IMPROVE YOUR GRADE |
| Besides serving as make-up exams, Exams
6 and 7 can be used to improve your grade, in case you are not
satisfied with your grade after the first four exams. Note that
there is no risk in taking these optional exams. |
| FINAL LETTER GRADE |
| Each of the 7 exams is worth 100 points.
Your final grade is calculated by dropping your two lowest scores,
then adding up the scores of the remaining 5 exams, then adding
your partipation score, and finally comparing that total with
the following scale. |
