Hardegree, Symbolic Logic: A First Course,
Third Edition. |
| IN-CLASS EXAMS (Exams 1, 2, 3, 4) |
| There are four in-class exams. For dates, see Schedule. |
| FINAL PERIOD EXAMS (Exams 5, 6) |
| In addition to the four regular-period exams, there
will be two one-hour exams to take place during the officially scheduled
final exam period. Exam #5 will be very similar to Exam #3. Exam #6 will be very similar to Exam #4. For exact date, time, and place, see the University Final Exam Schedule, published later in the semester. Also, stay tuned to this web site (see Schedule) for updates. |
| FOUR HIGHEST SCORES |
| In calculating your final numerical score, I use your four highest scores. A missed exam counts as a zero. |
| MAKE-UP EXAMS |
| There are no make-up exams, except as provided for in the previous item, and except as povided by University Policy (e.g., athletic events, religious holidays). |
| USING EXAMS 5 and 6 TO IMPROVE YOUR GRADE |
| Besides serving as make-up exams, Exams 5 and 6 can be used to improve your grade, in case you are not satisfied with your grade after the first four exams. Note that there is no risk in taking these optional exams. |
| FINAL LETTER GRADE |
| There are six total exams, each worth 100 points. Your four highest exam scores are used, so the maximum total score is 400. Your final letter grade is computed on the basis of your total numerical score, according to the following scale. |
