DIRECTING STUDIO is a graduate student forum for
peer response and interaction to support the production work of each participant.
In addition to that function, it is our aim to expose the graduate director
to experiences and artists that can help them to develop the strategies
and sensibilities necessary for a sustained professional life as an artist/
director. To that end, the class will work on devised directorial projects
and interact with experienced artist/directors and other theatre practitioners
whose work we feel will be of considerable value to the graduate director.
As well, the class will view and discuss the work(in-class and departmental)
of their peers(and when possible outside work that the group has seen) on
an ongoing basis.
TOP
REQUIREMENTS include participation in assigned directorial
projects and workshops, viewing performances and fulfilling duties in ongoing
production work.
