Opscan Report from guest Sam Welson from Opscan Services. 

Committee Concerns: 
Biol: Turnaround time better; Electronic copies of item analysis
unavailable.
    Item analysis important for Biol Teaching Grant long term analysis.
Math: Needs Opscan output in spreadsheet format.
        -everything onto a disc and in a spreadsheet.
        -Emailed is a security risk.
        -Nice if more than one correct answer possible.
        -Allowing different partial question values.
        -Bad form kick out a problem improved?  Bubbles are repaired 
         by sysop.
Opscan Remarks from Sam Welson:
    Will pick up or deliver.
    Latest scanning hardware and software.
    Not all requests are possible but ask.
    
SPIRE
John Dubach
    1st Monday of semester: 
            There was an IE7 outage in November.
            Denial of service attack suspected due to upgrading.
            It has nothing to do with Spire.
    2nd Monday
            Simple web server glitch. (Miss identified)
    Are we immune from daylight saving time change.
    Student requests to use SPIRE different on Monday start.
    Searching for Art 501
    Math: Able to do queries:  Problems, .... Evaluation is running.
    WebCT problem: At faculty member request a student is a grader. 
        - This is a FERPA violation.
        - A work around has been developed.
John: RIA: there is an ip address where people are distributing
copyrighted material
        - UMass receives a suppoena to identify an IP address holder.
        - new ploy: here is an ip address, we will sue them, please
deliver 
          a message to them that the RIA is going to get sued.
          UMass Admin has just sent out 35 such messages.
