My current research focuses on student learning of the process of design. I work primarily with middle school students in a robotics environment. I am particularly interested in the relationship of student beliefs and identities to their participation in design activities and their use of technology and new media.

Other research interests include K-12 teacher's adoption of and reflection on the use of technology and media in their teaching. Specifically, I am interested in how teachers adapt their teaching strategies to the affordances and constraints of technology tools in the classroom.
