On this website, we will be exploring the sex industry in Japan. Although this may not be a common topic raised by the political parties, those who have been to Japan know the impact sex has on the community. Woman put themselves in constant danger when they interact with drunken strangers. Is this degrading? or is it harmless? In this website I would like to give different terms, or explanations about the industry, and hopefully hear back from those with opinions on the topic.

Mizusho-bai (水商売): watertrade;
a term used for the night-time entertainment businesses in Japan, provided by geishas, hostesses or snack bars, bars, and cabarets.

Although many of the watertrade businesses only include conversation, light touching, and an article of clothing for sale, Fūzoku (風俗) is where the men go for simply sex and no games.
