I began my studies in Agricultural Sciences and Technology at the University Federico II of Naples. I then continued my education with a Master's degree specializing in Agricultural Economics and Policy at the Center for Advanced Training and Research in Rural Development, Economics and Policy, a part of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Policies. The Center is the leading institution for education in Agricultural Economics in Italy.

During my studies I became increasingly interested in the economics of food safety while working on several related projects at the Center. Upon completion of my Master's, I worked on various projects for the University of Naples (Italy) in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Policy. One such project concerned European consumers' preferences with respect to the production of pork meat, specifically focused on sustainability.

Due to my increasing interest towards applied economics and consumer behavior, I have joined the PhD program in the Department of Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. My area of concentration is Industrial Organization and Marketing. Presently, my research focus is further narrowed down to food markets and human health, with my PhD research on soft drinks taxation and its questionable effects on the obesity epidemic.
