School of Education
University of Massachusetts Amherst
Kappa Lambda Chapter
Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. The Society was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois and has a long history of openness to both genders, different races, ethnic backgrounds, disabilities, ages, and a wide variety of intellectual ideas.

Kappa Lambda Chapter at the University of Massachusetts was installed in 1965. Our chapter is managed by an eight member Executive Board which plans activities that have included newsletters, awards and scholarships, programs for students, and our annual Spring Initiation which students have called "the best honor society initiation on campus!"
In recent years, our Chapter has focused on strengthening communication between students and the School of Education's faculty and administration.
Importantly, our chapter has helped to prepare students for the Massachusetts Massachusetts Tests for Educator
Licensure (MTEL). Our goal is to address common concerns for all certification and Education students at the University of Massachusetts.
